MOI005 - Moi - Basic words (Speaker: Hendrik Mili)

This dataset contains elicited basic vocabulary from Moi with Hendrik Mili (born 1958), a native speaker of Moi. Words were recorded in isolation, utterance-final, and utterance-medial context; they cover the semantic domains of landscape, plants, animals, humans, numbers, and cultural items. The session was recorded on 15 January 2020, in Malagasih village (Sorong regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). The recording of this session is split across two audio files, MOI005-01 and MOI005-02. This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19\100004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a Moray Endowment Grant from the University of Edinburgh.
