Number of holidays taken by Italians 2023, by purpose and length of stay

In 2023, Italian travelers mainly took holiday trips for pleasure and leisure purposes. That year, Italians made roughly 35.2 million trips for these reasons, with holidays lasting four nights or more accounting for most of such vacations. Meanwhile, visiting friends or relatives was the second most popular reason for taking either long or short holidays in 2023.
