A Latent Profile Analysis of Pregnant Women’s Childbirth Fear

To explore the potential categories of pregnant women's fear of childbirth and the effects of subjective economic status and social support on different potential categories of pregnant women's fear of childbirth. In this study, 440 perinatal pregnant women in a hospital in Yunnan Province, were used as subjects, and the Childbirth Attitude Questionnaire (CAQ), Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), and Subjective Socioeconomic Status Assessment Tool were used.
Results: (1) Contemporary pregnant women's fear of childbirth can be classified into three potential categories: Low Fear Anxiety-Self-Control Focus Group、Moderate Fear Anxiety - Concerned About Child Injury Group、High Fear Anxiety-Fetal Health Concerns Group. (2) Pregnant women with higher social support scores were more likely to be distributed in the concern for self-control group, and pregnant women with lower subjective socioeconomic status scores were more likely to be distributed in the concern for child health group.
Conclusion: There is potential heterogeneity in pregnant women's fear of childbirth, and social support and scarcity mindset predict the level of fear of childbirth among pregnant women.
