Site-specificity of microbiome community and colonization characteristics of Candida albicans in adolescents with orthodontic gingivitis

Gingivitis is a prevalent complication in adolescents undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment. However, site-specific microbial dynamics between supragingival and subgingival microbiomes under orthodontic gingivitis, and the impact of Candida albicans in the dual-niche remain unclear. This study aims to analyze the microbiome differences between supragingival and subgingival plaque in orthodontic adolescents with gingivitis, and to clarify the colonization characteristics of C. albicans.
