The Impact of Physical Activity on Career Success

Using data from the year 2013, this paper explores the relationship between participation in physical activity and career success. The data surveys this relationship across 3047 individuals in the United States. A probit model is used to analyze the impact of both cardio-based and strengthening-based physical activity on the probability of employment. Considering the effects of age, gender, ethnicity, educational attainment, geographic region, occupational status, and awareness of health, the results suggest that engaging in physical activity is associated with an increase in the probability of employment and career success.
