This project investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying thermal stress responses in the reef-building coral Stylophora pistillata. Using RNA sequencing under controlled micro-device conditions at 25 degrees C, 28.5 degrees C, and 32 degrees C, the study identifies heat-responsive genes and pathways involved in protein folding, oxidative stress, apoptosis, immune signaling, and metabolic reprogramming. Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis (WGCNA) was applied to identify key gene modules and hub genes associated with thermal tolerance. These data provide systems-level insights into coral resilience and adaptive responses under climate change.
