Exploring Nurses’ Perception on Patient Safety Culture – Multi-Hospital Cross-Sectional Study

This study investigates the perceptions of nurses regarding various dimensions of patient safety culture within tertiary care hospitals setting in Southern India. Utilizing a structured, self-administered questionnaire based on the AHRQ’s Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture, we analyzed responses from 295 frontline nurses. Our findings underscore both strengths—such as intra-unit communication and institutional learning—as well as challenges, including inadequate staffing, lack of standardized protocols, and workload concerns. These insights are crucial for developing actionable strategies to enhance patient safety through policy and system-level interventions.
