Metagenomic Insights into Nitrogen-Cycling Microbes Across Soil Depths in Chinese Terrestrial Ecosystems

This project investigates soil microbial communities across 112 sampling sites in Chinese terrestrial ecosystems. Soil samples were collected from three depths (0-20 cm, 20-50 cm, and 50-100 cm) to examine microbial diversity, community structure, and functional profiles using metagenomic sequencing. The focus is on understanding vertical and spatial distributions and the roles of microbes in biogeochemical cycles, especially nitrogen cycling pathways. The dataset provides valuable resources for exploring soil microbial biodiversity and ecological functions across environmental gradients.
