沅江是洞庭湖重要水源之一。沅江入洞庭湖沉积物中重金属污染是洞庭湖环境监测中备受关注的问题。作者于2015年1月,对沅江下游入洞庭湖段进行了样方检测调查。在牛鼻滩(YN)、沅江大桥(YJ)和岩汪湖(YW)附近选择三个样点取样(ZYA-70型沉积物取样器)。取得的沉积柱样品长度分别为263cm、286cm和276cm。对沉积柱样品按4cm的间距分样并按顺序编号。选择编号为单数的沉积物样品进行室内分析(中国科学院广州地球化学研究所同位素地球化学国家重点实验室利用Perkin-Elmer Elan 6000型等离子质谱仪测定),得到沅江入洞庭湖沉积物重金属含量数据集。该数据集由牛鼻滩(YN)、沅江大桥(YJ)、岩汪湖(YW)附近三个样点的地理位置数据、三个样点的包括Sc、V、Cr、Mn、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Ba、Pb、Th、U、Mo、Cd、Tl和Bi共16种重金属垂直分布数据组成。牛鼻滩样本点沉积物重金属含量数据汇集在表1,其中包括0-263cm沉积物之间1-65样品(取单数样品)、16种重金属含量(mg/kg)和变异系数;沅江大桥附近样本点沉积物重金属含量数据汇集在表2,其中包括0-286cm沉积物之间1-69样品(取单数样品)16种重金属含量(mg/kg)和变异系数;岩汪湖样本点沉积物重金属含量数据汇集在表3,其中包括从0-276cm沉积物之间1-68样品(取单数样品)16种重金属含量(mg/kg)和变异系数。数据集存储为.kmz, .shp和.xlsx格式,压缩后数据量为33.5KB。该数据集的分析研究成果发表在《地理研究》2016年第35卷第10期。

The Yuanjiang River is one of the important water sources of the Dongting Lake. Heavy metal pollution in sediments at the estuary of the Yuanjiang River into the Dongting Lake has been a major concern in environmental monitoring of the Dongting Lake. In January 2015, the authors conducted a quadrat-based sampling and investigation at the lower reach of the Yuanjiang River where it empties into the Dongting Lake. Three sampling sites were selected near Niubitan (YN), Yuanjiang Bridge (YJ), and Yanwanghu (YW) for sampling using a ZYA-70 sediment sampler. The lengths of the obtained sediment cores were 263 cm, 286 cm, and 276 cm, respectively. Each sediment core was sub-sampled at 4 cm intervals and numbered sequentially. Single-numbered sediment samples were selected for laboratory analysis, which was conducted at the State Key Laboratory of Isotope Geochemistry, Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, using a Perkin-Elmer Elan 6000 inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). The heavy metal content dataset of sediments at the estuary of the Yuanjiang River into the Dongting Lake was thus obtained. This dataset consists of geographic location data of the three sampling sites near Niubitan (YN), Yuanjiang Bridge (YJ), and Yanwanghu (YW), as well as vertical distribution data of 16 heavy metals including Sc, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ba, Pb, Th, U, Mo, Cd, Tl, and Bi for each of the three sampling sites. Heavy metal content data of sediments at the Niubitan sampling site are compiled in Table 1, which includes the single-numbered samples 1 to 65 (covering 0–263 cm sediment depth), the contents of the 16 heavy metals (unit: mg/kg), and their coefficients of variation. Heavy metal content data of sediments at the sampling site near Yuanjiang Bridge are compiled in Table 2, which includes the single-numbered samples 1 to 69 (covering 0–286 cm sediment depth), the contents of the 16 heavy metals (unit: mg/kg), and their coefficients of variation. Heavy metal content data of sediments at the Yanwanghu sampling site are compiled in Table 3, which includes the single-numbered samples 1 to 68 (covering 0–276 cm sediment depth), the contents of the 16 heavy metals (unit: mg/kg), and their coefficients of variation. The dataset is stored in .kmz, .shp, and .xlsx formats, with a compressed size of 33.5 KB. The analytical and research results of this dataset were published in *Geographical Research* (Vol. 35, No. 10, 2016).
