Water bacterial community from two freshwater aquaculture systems in Northern German

In this study, we assessed the effect of two fish farms on the water microbiome composition by analyzing the water before entering the system, named inflow water, and the wastewater, named outflow water. We additionally identified bacterial strains associated with common fish diseases. The abundance, diversity and identity of microorganisms were assessed by targeting the V3-V4 16S rRNA hypervariable gene region.
