Faecal microbiota of captive chimpanzee troop

The aim of this project was to investigate a complete troop of captive chimpanzees within Taronga Zoo, Sydney and determine the prevalence of the different parasites present within the group. Specifically, we investigated presence of Giardia duodenalis and its association with distinct microbiota profile that could suggest that even asymptomatic carriers could be suffering from dysbiosis.
