MODIS Crops Only NDVI data Karamoja 2000 to 2015
收藏资源简介:
MODIS NDVI Drought Risk Forecasting Dataset for Karamoja Region, Uganda (2000-2016) This dataset contains processed MODIS Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data and derived drought indicators for six districts in the Karamoja region of Uganda. The data was used to trigger alerts in the Drought Risk Forecasting (DRF) program, providing early warning capabilities for drought conditions affecting this semi-arid pastoral region. Temporal Coverage: 2000-2016 (monthly composites) Spatial Coverage: Six districts in Karamoja region, Uganda: Kaabong Moroto Nakapiripirit Napak Abim Kotido Data Source: Original MODIS NDVI data sourced from NASA Harvest's Global Agriculture Monitoring (GLAM) system: https://glam.nasaharvest.org/ Dataset Variables: Temporal identifiers: Year, Month, MVC_Start_Day, EnddateofNDVIComposite NDVI metrics per district: Raw NDVI values, long-term mean (2000-2016), minimum/maximum values, standard deviation Drought indicators per district: NDVI Anomaly (departure from long-term mean) VCI (Vegetation Condition Index) SVI (Standardized Vegetation Index) Precipitation indicators for Kotido: SPI (Standardized Precipitation Index) at 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12-month timescales Applications: This dataset supported drought monitoring, early warning systems, and climate vulnerability assessments in Karamoja. The combination of vegetation and precipitation indices provides a comprehensive characterization of drought in the Karamoja region.
