Deprivation sittings took place when licensees and owners of licensed publicans' premises and holders of Australian wine licenses were called upon by the Licenses Reduction Board to show cause as to why their premises should not be deprived of a license. Compensation sittings were held once a license had been deprived by the Board with the affected parties applying to the Court for compensation. The files include summaries of cases to be heard before the Court. These summaries contain details of the hotel's owner and licensee, a description of the hotel, police inspection reports and the takings and expenses of the establishment. Some transcripts of court proceedings are also included. The arrangement of the files is alphabetical by electorate. (14/2589.2-2590.1). 2 bundles.
