Composite images derived from colonic cross sections during murine infection by Clostridioides difficile carrying fluorescent transcriptional reporters

This file contains the composite images of colonic cross sections derived following <i>Clostridioides difficile</i> infection of mice. Mice were infected with either single reporter or dual reporter strains, with the single reporter consisting of a constitutive transcriptional reporter, and the dual reporter consisting of a constitutive transcriptional reporter combined with a toxin gene-specific transcriptional reporter. The dual reporters were integrated into different mutant backgrounds that either overexpress toxin genes relative to WT or fail to express toxin genes.
