The study aims to comprehensively explore the adaptation process of the small intestine after total colectomy (TC). By integrating microbiome, metabolome, and transcriptome analyses, it endeavors to elucidate the compensatory mechanisms underlying TC, offering insights into the physiological changes post-surgery and guiding future clinical interventions
