The increasing use of traditional medicine underscores the urgent need to scientifically validate medicinal plants like Moringa oleifera, which is widely used yet often questioned for its phytochemical consistency across regions. This study provides valuable datasets confirming the presence of key phytochemicals and antioxidants in M. oleifera growing in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. These findings support the traditional knowledge held by communities in Burnshill and offer scientific justification for its use in treating various ailments. Additionally, the qualitative and quantitative data, including NMR structural analysis, lay the groundwork for isolating bioactive compounds that may help combat drug-resistant infections, contributing to the global search for plant-based therapeutics.
