5-week-old male mice were treated intraperitoneally with DEN (90 mg/kg). Two weeks after DEN treatment, the mice were given sodium phenobarbital (PB, 500 ppm) in drinking water and/or pregnenolone16a-carbonitrile-containing (PCN, 100 ppm) CE-2 chow for 35 weeks and liver sections were collected. RNA from the livers of 10-13 mice in each group was pooled.
