Atomic vacancies rich MoS2 nanoflowers stimulate mitochondrial function by reducing cellualr ROS generation and upregulating the expression of genes required for mitochondrial biogenesis. Evaluating the effect of atomic vacancies in MoS2 nanoparticles on hMSC fate. Untreated control hMSCs are compared to hMSCs treated with MoS2 nanoparticles containing low (1:1) or high (1:6) vacancies.
