资源简介:
Triphyophillum is a fascinating liana known as a part-time carnivorous plant. As indicated by its scientific name, they produce three distinct types of leaves, including the ones that are produced only in the rainy season and serve as insect traps, just like man-made flypapers. Their insect-catching glandular hairs are known as the largest among similar structures known in angiosperms. The geographical distribution of Triphyophyllum is limited to a small area of West African rainforests around Sierra Leone. The limited access has hampered the research of this mysterious plant, despite the aforementioned multi-faceted interests. To obtain gene sequences for phylogeny and other applications, we performed RNA-seq of non-carnivorous leaf tissues.
