Classification of stellar shells in galaxies (initial sample)

Visual classification of stellar shells in 345 nearby galaxies selected from the brightest objects in the 2MASS Redshift Survey (by parent K-band magnitude) with imaging available in DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys DR10. Classification based on Legacy Surveys optical images processed with the tfimage tool (github.com/PidiGalaxies/tfimage), enabling consistent multi-scale inspection of original and residual images. Galaxy classes: A: secure shell galaxies B: uncertain detections C: likely no shells D: no shells For Class A galaxies, annotations include estimated shell counts and qualitative shell-structure types. Catalog columns include galaxy identifiers, coordinates, extinction-corrected K-band magnitudes, shell class, and shell annotations. ZIP archives provide tfimage images for all galaxies, grouped by class.
