Surgical asepsis among Operation Theatre

ABSTRACT • Surgical asepsis is an important role in the operation theatre which aim is to prevent the spread of microorganism during surgical procedures. It is used to maintain the sterile environment, hand hygiene, use sterile instrument and gown during any procedure, adequate sterilization and disinfection of equipment’s and instruments and gentle handling of sterile equipment’s. All operation theatre technician and circulators must adapt aseptic techniques during preparation of patient during surgery and post-operative care. Proper environment cleaning by using (Hepa filters), waste management by using colour coded bins, and infection control practices are also important during surgical asepsis. These measures help to reduce SSI (surgical site infection), protect patient and healthcare workers, also promote safe procedures.
