Éléments de géométrie algébrique (EGA): Canonical French and Standalone English Editions

2026-08-07 EGA II printed-p.20 checkpoint. This successor updates the independent cumulative French reader and master through printed p.20, completing 2.1.1 and opening 2.1.2 through the graded tensor and Hom shift formulas. The French reader is 156 pages. The separate standalone English reader remains 1,345 pages and was directly rechecked; no p.20 source correction was needed. Three late read-only EGA-to-Stacks referrals independently reconfirmed defects already sealed at EGA I printed pp.83-84: the omitted proper-ideal qualification in 1.1.15, the incorrect 1.1.12 cross-reference in 1.2.5, and the unprimed X/A/A ambient symbols in the proof of 1.2.7. Canonical French preserves all printed defects diplomatically. Standalone English already supplies a != A, reference 1.1.11, and X'/A'/A'. No source or reader byte changed for these idempotent referrals; REL.jsonl and 03_INDEX.md bind their authority, prior decisions, exact dispositions, and identity inverses. The French and English editions are independent. There is no bilingual, paired, parallel, side-by-side, interleaved, or combined reader. 03_INDEX.md is non-reader semantic pre-Stacks/Stacks metadata only. Canonical French EGA 0-IV remains incomplete; the next cursor is EGA II printed p.21. Earlier versions and the 80 inherited archive files remain immutable historical evidence.
