The soil samples were air dried (at 40 °C maximum for 12 h) and then grounded and sieved (2-mm mesh) (NF ISO 11464). Samples were air dried (at 40 °C maximum) again just before spectra measurement. Samples of 50 g of dried sieved soil in a Petri dish (10 cm diameter) were scanned by a NIRFLEX N-500 Büchi spectrometer (Fourier Transform polarization technology, serial number 1000067530. Software : NIRWare Operator). Each measurement is the mean of 32 scans and recorded in reflectance and in wave number, in cm-1.The spectral range is 10 000 - 4000 cm–1 and the spectral resolution is 8 cm-1. During an analytical sequence, a reference sample is used to obtain an indicator of stability and conformity of the spectrometer. The reference sample corresponds to a soil sample on which numerous spectral acquisitions have been made under conditions of repeatability and intermediate fidelity. It is positioned at the beginning of the sequence and then at a regular interval, every ten samples.
