A field experiment was set up including 12 sweetpotato genotypes considered as susceptible, moderately resistant and resistant to viruses in a row collumn design with three replications and three treatments, including artificially infected, naturally infected and healthy plants. Symptoms, virus concentrations, yield and different types of remotely sensed data were collected using drones at several time points throughout the growing season. A dataset is provided, which is currently under analysis to enable high throughput phenotyping of virus resistance in sweetpotato based on remotely sensed data collected by drones.
