IAP global gridded ocean dataset spans from surface to ~6000m since 1940 with a spatial resolution of 1°×1° and monthly temporal resolution. This dataset used advanced techniques to quality-control data, comprehensively correct systematic biases in ocean observations from multiple instruments, and fill the data gaps using a sophisticated approach. The dataset has been shown to be superior in representing multiple-scale signals and has been widely used by the community; users come from >90 countries, >20 Nature/Science papers, and >55 international reports, including the IPCC and WMO.
