Number of new pacemaker implants in Sweden 2022, by gender and age

More men than women had pacemaker implants in most age groups in Sweden in 2021. Most implants were made for male patients aged 80 to 89 years, where the number of pacemaker implants amounted to 1,785. Among women, most pacemakers were implanted in the same age group as well, with 1,089 implants.
