Warming impacts on soil CO₂efflux of an Asian monsoon forest: experimental processes and high resolution datasets<br>This is a part of a ongoing project for evaluation of global warming impacts on soil carbon dynamics of Japan forest ecosystems. From the end of 2008, we started the soil warming experiment in a 55-year-old evergreen broad-leaved forest in the boundary between subtropical and warm-temperate biomes in southern Japan. We used carbon infrared heaters to increase soil temperature at 5 cm depth for about 2.5°C and continuous recorded CO₂ emission from the soil surface using a multichannel automated chamber system. Here we present the experimental processes and datasets of CO₂ emission rate, soil temperature and soil moisture from the control, trenched and warmed trenched plots, respectively.
