资源简介:
The technology of cloud computing enables the efficient use of distributed and on-demand resources. Busi- nesses have attempted to utilize the benefits of cloud computing through the migration of their legacy applications to a cloud environment to offer a software-as-a-service model. This model is beneficial if legacy applications support a multi-tenancy architecture, enabling the customers to share a single application at any given time. The two significant benefits of a multi-tenancy architecture include the low maintenance costs and efficient usage of hardware resources. However, the migration of a single-tenancy legacy application comprises numerous intricacies and an equal number of challenges. We have described the necessary steps required to migrate applications to the cloud environment and the incorporation of additional components for the deployment of multi-tenancy. This paper includes the description for designing and implementing multi-tenancy architectures for successful migration of legacy applications to the cloud environment, along with the evaluation of the devised solution through the legacy application Diversity Workbench. The thesis was submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the course “Applied Computer Science” and was supervised by Prof. Ramin Yahyapour (GWDG) and Dr. Sven Bingert (GWDG).
