This dataset was constructed to validate the following indicator: Are the following health services provided free of charge at point of use in the public sector for women of reproductive age? • Family planning • Antenatal care • Childbirth (normal) • C-section • Management of other birth complications • Post-natal care for mother • Immunization services during pregnancy • Insecticide-treated bed nets • Pharmaceutical products and/or other medical supplies if required for diagnosis and treatment or childbirth • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections • Testing and treatment for syphilis • Testing and treatment for HIV • Infertility management • Screening for cervical cancer Answer categories apply to each of the services o Yes, for all women o Yes, for selected population groups o No o Unknown Data Source Indicator Reference: WHO MNCAH Policy Survey, 2018 I. Validation Framework Construct for Validation Maternal health-related services should be free; there should be no user fees for maternal health services. To compare evidence from various relevant data sources regarding exemption from user fees for the services included in the indicator and describe variance between these data sources. To stratify the results using the EPMM standard equity stratifiers to ascertain whether there is variance by these factors in the rate of fees charged for the maternal health-related services that are supposed to be exempt from user fees according to the policy in each setting.
