Sweet sorghum is ahigh-quality bio-energy crop, that also serves as human and animal food.However, information on its genomic characteristics is scanty. In this study, PacBio long read, Illumina short read, HI-C sequencing data, gene annotation, and comparative genome analysis were conducted to assemble the sweet sorghum genome. The results showed that t The genome size of sweet sorghum is 777M, with contigN50 of 553.5KB and GC content of 43.90%. Besides, sweet sorghum has 37971encoding genes and 39937 transcripts.A total of 7899 sweet sorghum genomic information was annotated in six large databases. Cafe software analysis showed that 191 gene families were significantly expanded, while 3794 were significantly contracted in sweet sorghum.The high-quality genome mapconstructed in this study provides a biological basis for future analysis of the biological characteristics of sweet sorghum, which is crucial forits breeding.
