Reduced representation bisulfite sequencing of skin in Marine Turtles

Age estimation of marine turtles using DNA methylation. \nLineage: Skin biopsies from 63 green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) and one sample from the following species: Flatback turtle (Natator depressus), Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), Leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriacea), Loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta), and Olive Ridley turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea). Skin biopsies extracted using the DNeasy Blood & Tissue Kit (QIAGEN) as instructed in the manufacturer’s protocol. DNA was prepared for reduced representation bisulfite sequencing (RRBS) with the restriction enzyme MspI and the previously described method [1].
