Data for allele and genotype frequencies of three LP variants in 400 adult individuals from seven Iranian ethnic groups

The genetic basis of lactase persistent (LP) has been investigated in many populations in the world. Iran has a long history of pastoralism and the daily consumption of dairy products; thus, we collected and provided allele and genotype frequencies of three LP variants in 400 adult individuals from seven Iranian ethnic groups, allele and genotype frequencies of the neighboring countries of Iran, comparison of the levels of nucleotide diversity in lactase persistent, lactase intermediate persistent and lactase nonpersistent measured across the three sequence regions from 400 Iranian Individuals.
