Transplantation of gut microbiota from high-fat-diet-tolerant cynomolgus monkeys alleviates hyperlipidemia and hepatocyte lesions in rats

A nonhuman primate (cynomolgus monkey) model for hyperlipidemia was established to investigate the role of gut microbiota in HLP. Surprisingly, a proportion of them developed tolerance to HFD and their blood lipid profiles returned to normal levels. Therefore, through metagenomic analysis to demonstrate the changes in composition of gut microbiota in these monkeys.
