Outstanding amounts of France as at 31 December 2023

The outstanding amount takes into account loans granted directly by the State as well as claims made by other operators in favour of foreign States and other entities in the public sector (mainly public undertakings and local authorities): **(i)** loans from the French Development Agency (AFD); **(ii)** loans previously restructured carried out by the Banque de France under budget programme 852; **(iii)** Treasury loans carried by BPI Assurance Export[1]; and **(iv)** claims brought by BPI Assurance Export following the call and/or compensation of guarantees granted under the French export support policy. The outstanding amount includes outstanding capital and arrears (principal and interest) but not default interest. * * * [1] These loans, previously carried out by Natixis on behalf of the State, were taken over by BPI Assurance Export on 1 January 2023.
