Measurements of oceanic methane, oceanic carbon dioxide and oceanic organosulfur compounds made during the Challenger 62 research cruise during October 1989

This metadata entry refers to measurements of oceanic methane and oceanic pCO2 made by Andy Watson; and DMS and DMSP compounds made by Gillian Malin during the Challenger 62 research cruise in the North Sea. The cruise began on 6th October 1989 and ended on the 18th October 1989 with a spatial coverage of 52.32N to 52.15S latitude and 3.45E to 3.15W longitude. The data consists of: -measurements of the concentration of dimethylsulphoniopropionate (DMSP) per unit volume of the water column by gas chromatography -60 measurements of the concentration of dimethylsulphide (DMS) per unit volume of the water column by filtration, purging, cryogenic trapping and gas chromatography. -Continuous measurements of oceanic pCO2 via automated gas chromatography -Continuous measurements of oceanic methane (CH4) via automated gas chromatography See below for further details.
