In this study, we analyzed and predicted the microbiota diversity and function in different parts of the gastrointestinal tract from Laoshan young dairy goats, mainly by sequencing the high variant region of 16S rRNA gene V3-V4 (stomach: reticulum, rumen, omasum, abomasum; foregut : duodenum, jejunum, ileum; hindgut: cecum, colon, rectum).
