Defined as part of the South Norfolk Local Plan 2003. South Norfolk is creator of this data and it is reviewed and updated as part of the Local Plan process. Government Planning Policy Note PPG6 Town Centre and Retail Developments (June 1996) required Councils to work to maintain and enhance the vitality and viability of Town Centres. The 1997 South Norfolk Retail Study identified where the secondary shopping areas are.
