Political Sensitivity of Students (FU Berlin)

Attitude to general political as well as college political questions
and political sensitivity of students in the decision situation before
the election to the student parlament.

Topics: 1. General political views: image of society; political
participation and political extent to which informed; party preference;
attitude to a soviet system; possibilities of democratization in the
FRG; judgement on the frequency of strikes in the FRG (general);
attitude to opposition outside of parliament (APO) and adequate
self-presentation of the APO; defensible forms of force.

2. Student parlament election: most important causes for
politicization among students; attitude to college political questions;
judgement on the political mandate of the student representation and
the use of ASTA monies; judgement on the election campaign; person or
group orientation in the election to the student parlament; reading of
hand-bills and student newspapers.

3. Study matters: self-image of students; judgement on equal
opportunities in access to college; motivation for studies; judgement
on the performance demands in college; direction of studies; number of
semesters; sources of financing; rough information on actual and
desired time budget; occupational success orientation; occupational
goal.

4. Miscellaneous: attitude to theft of books; significance of
technology and science in the FRG; judgement on empirical social
research; judgement on professors and policeman; social origins;
judgement on parental home; differences in political attitude to
family; military service; membership in clubs and organizations;
religious ties and intent to leave the church; housing conditions.

Demography: age; sex; marital status; religious denomination; school
education; housing situation.

Interviewer rating: presence and influence of other persons;
willingness of respondent to cooperate; reason for breaking off the
interview.
