PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitch trouble suppression method， that is useful for suppressing/preventing pitch stains in the papermaking process. SOLUTION: The pitch trouble suppression method is a method for suppressing a pitch trouble in papermaking process， and involves adding a pitch dispersing agent and/or an oxidizing agent to the pulp slurry in the pulping step， which is the pre-stage of the papermaking process， and in which the oxidizing agent is at least one selected from the group consisting of hypochlorite， chlorite， chlorine dioxide， hydrogen peroxide and bound halogen.
