Contest data used for the analyses presented in the manuscript: "Influence of prior contest experience and level of escalation on contest outcome". <br>"male.id" = Identification number of a lizard"fight.id" = Identification number of a contest between two lizards"winner" = Two level factor indicating with lizard won the contest, 1 = winner of the contest, 0 = loser of the contest"duration" = Duration of the contest in seconds"con.init" = Two level factor indicating which lizard initiated the contest, 1 = initiator, 0 = non-initiator"escalate" = Two level factor indicating whether the contest escalated to physical biting or not, 1 = escalated, 0 = did not escalate "prior.win" = Two level factor indicating whether lizard won in the previous contest, 1 = won previous contest, 0 = did not win previous contest"mass" = Body mass of the lizard in grams"sc.mass" = Z-transformed body mass of a lizard."massdiff" = Difference in "sc.mass" between the opponents"tot.bite" = Total number of times a lizard bit his opponent"r.tot.bite" = Rank transformed and normalised "tot.bite". This was calculated using quantiles from a normal distribution with mean = 0 and standard deviation = 1. <br>
