Supporting action to enhance heritage and biodiversity in the Castlemaine Diggings

This project will support ten Landcare and Friends groups in the Mount Alexander Region to improve the condition of the Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park and neighbouring public land. Each activity will involve meeting and interacting with a local community group, whose project the team will help to achieve. The activities in the project will prevent further degradation of the Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park by: stopping weed invasion and erosion; supporting community groups that are engaged with the Park; and enhancing the biodiversity values of the Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park and neighbouring land, which includes important habitat for the nationally endangered Swift Parrot and Southern Shepherds Purse.
