The reference genome of the lab-strain of zebrafish has facilitated our ability to relate sequence to function, however the diversity of wildtype strains has remained undocumented. Here we present the whole genome sequence of a ASWT strain of zebrafish at high fold genome coverage. Analysis revealed large number of novel variations and a selective enrichment of variations in genes involved in specific biological function, thus providing a catalogue of genetic variations in the zebrafish genome.
