Dataset and scripts for the study "Apparent Forest-Cover Stability Conceals Structural and Functional Landscape Reorganization in a Human-Modified Atlantic Forest–Cerrado Ecotone"

This dataset contains all geospatial and analytical materials supporting the article “Apparent Forest-Cover Stability Conceals Structural and Functional Landscape Reorganization in a Human-Modified Atlantic Forest–Cerrado Ecotone”. The data refer to the Sarapuí River Basin (São Paulo State, Brazil) and were organized to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and full documentation of the analytical workflow used in the study. The repository includes land-use, forest cover, and forest dynamics maps derived from MapBiomas Collection 7 (1986–2021, 30 m spatial resolution). These raster datasets comprise annual land-use and land-cover maps, binary forest-cover maps, and spatial layers identifying forest persistence, gain, and loss events across the analyzed years. Structural and functional analyses conducted in the study are documented through FRAGSTATS and Graphab project files and their associated outputs. In addition, the repository includes the R scripts and project structure used for data processing, statistical analyses, and figure generation. Version 2 of this repository expands the original dataset to improve analytical transparency and reproducibility by including additional Graphab projects and a fully organized analytical codebase corresponding to the complete workflow described in the manuscript. Sensitivity_Analysis_Graphab.rar (Version 2) – Graphab projects and associated outputs used in the dispersal-distance sensitivity analysis. These files include connectivity networks generated under multiple dispersal-distance scenarios and the resulting node and link metrics used to evaluate the robustness of connectivity patterns prior to the temporal analysis. Time-Series_Graphab.rar (Version 2) – Updated Graphab projects used for the spatiotemporal connectivity analysis across the historical series (1986–2021). This archive contains the complete Graphab project structure, required input datasets, and the outputs generated for each analyzed year, allowing replication of the Probability of Connectivity calculations and spatial connectivity surfaces presented in the manuscript. R_code_v2.rar (Version 2) – Organized RStudio project containing the scripts used for data processing, statistical analysis, and figure generation. The codebase was reviewed and structured to ensure reproducibility and now includes all analytical steps described in the manuscript, together with the required input datasets and scripts used to generate the main results and figures. All spatial data use the SIRGAS 2000 / UTM Zone 23S coordinate reference system. File formats include GeoTIFF (.tif), shapefiles (.shp), CSV tables, text files (.txt), Graphab project files, and R scripts (.R). Files labeled as Version 2 correspond to additions made after the first peer review round to improve transparency, reproducibility, and documentation of the analytical workflow used in the study.
