Corn Leaf aphid symbionts genetic analyses

Aphids are an ancient group of insects which, due especially to the human prevalence of growing a plethora of crops. We concentrate on one well-studied, now under expansion and globally important aphid pest in particular, the corn-leaf aphid <i>Rhopalosiphum maidis</i> (Fitch). In this way, we hope to show that knowledge of such interactions between insect host and its constraining abiotic and biotic factors can prove efficacious in aphid control. Whole genetic analyses of this species microbial symbionts have been analyzed, and the importance of these bacterial symbionts in aphid adaptation discussed. Here we present the whole dataset of this bacterial symbionts assessment which was made using next generation genetic tool, the Illumina systems.
