DNA methylation is considered one part of an organisms extended genotype that may influence the activity and regulation of the genome and impact downstream traits. This project aims to: Perform whole genome bisulfite sequencing on multiple genetically-similar families of diploid Brachypodium. Identify intra-family methylation variation. Identify hypervariable methylation regions of the Brachypodium genome. Attempt to associate methylation variation to phenotypic variation such as growth rate and flowering time.
