NARRATIVE STRATEGIES AND STYLISTIC INNOVATION IN LYUDMILA ULITSKAYA'S PROSE

This thesis summary presents the key findings of a master's thesis devoted to the artistic features of Lyudmila Ulitskaya's prose. The study systematically examines the narrative strategies, thematic architecture, character construction methods, and stylistic innovations that define Ulitskaya's creative method. Drawing on narratological theory, cultural memory studies, and feminist literary criticism, the research analyzes major works including "Medea and Her Children," "The Kukotsky Enigma," "Daniel Stein, Interpreter," "The Big Green Tent," and "Jacob's Ladder." The thesis introduces the concept of "biopoetic narrative" to describe Ulitskaya's unique synthesis of scientific thinking and literary art, arguing that her prose represents a distinctive contribution to contemporary Russian and world literature through its integration of polyphonic structure, documentary realism, and sustained philosophical inquiry into memory, identity, and tolerance.
