The coupling effects of confining pressure and temperature on dynamic and static properties of organic shales

In this study, a suite of triaxial tests is performed on two pairs of room-dry shales with transversely isotropic texture to investigate the combined effects of confining pressure and temperature on dynamic and static properties. The experiments are performed at temperatures ranging from 25 ℃ to 105 ℃ and confining pressures varying from 5 MPa to 45 MPa. Additionally, the experiments investigate the influences of bedding planes on thermomechanical properties and the evolutions of anisotropy degrees with varied confining pressure and temperature.
