Vaginal Lactobacillus crispatus phage induction

The goal of this study is to assess the inducibility of prophages from vaginal Lactobacillus crispatus strains. Additionally, the study aims to characterize the genomes of prophages induced with Mitomycin C. The bacterial strains were isolated from vaginal swabs collected from female South African participants (aged 15 - 19 years) who were enrolled in the UChoose Study (clinicaltrials.gov/NCT02404038). This work contributes to the genomic information of vaginal Lactobacillus phages.
