Parkes observations for project P1056 semester 2020APRS_01

MeerTRAP is a project that performs real-time, commensal searches for fast radio transients using the MeerKAT telescope in South Africa. It has made its first discovery of a Galactic fast radio transient. We have so far detected about 35 pulses from what may be a Rotating Radio Transient (RRAT), and have localised its position to within a few arcseconds, allowing follow-up at other facilities. We request timing observations of this source to determine its basic rotational parameters, as well as its spectrum, flux density variability, detection rate and polarimetry. The Parkes UWL observations will be essential for determining the nature of the source and its place among the known neutron star population.
