Identification of bacteria isolated from healthy corals in the Great Barrier Reef. Coral-associated bacteria

Bacteria isolated from healthy coral colonies collected in the Great Barrier Reef were grown in pure cultures and identified through their 16S rRNA gene sequences. These bacteria were then used in a coral inoculation experiment with the aim to determine whether the microbiome of corals can be manipulated and gain insights into the applicability of probiotics for coral reef restoration.
